Afro Vision empowers young Cameroonian software engineers with high-paying tech opportunities

[DIGITAL Business Africa] – Showcase events like PROMOTE 2026 continue to highlight the resilience and ingenuity of Cameroon’s tech ecosystem, particularly within the Silicon Mountain delegation at the UK Pavilion. Among the local innovators making a strong impression, Afro Vision stood out for its dedicated mission to tackle youth unemployment and stem the tide of brain drain through high-level digital skills training.

Fabiola BAMEN, COO of Afro Vision, outlined the company’s vision during an exclusive interview with Digital Business Africa, emphasizing how targeted training and mentorship can seamlessly integrate young African talent into the global digital economy.

“We offer targeted training programs to prepare young graduates for the software industry. In our country, we realized that many young people leaving university lack the practical skills, mentorship, and quality training required by the job market,” explained Fabiola BAMEN.

Bridging the gap between university and the tech market

To address this skills mismatch, Afro Vision provides a structured pipeline that moves young talent from academic backgrounds to professional-grade software engineering.

“What we do basically is train them, hone their skills, and connect them directly with job opportunities. So far, we have successfully trained over 100 software engineers and placed many of them in high-paying remote roles—earning at least $1,500 per month—allowing them to actively participate in the digital economy,” added the COO of Afro Vision.

Fighting brain drain through remote work infrastructure

By enabling software engineers to access high-paying international roles from within Cameroon, Afro Vision tackles a major socio-economic issue: illegal migration and the loss of local expertise to foreign markets.

“Our mission is to provide solutions that benefit both society and young talent. We offer an ideal platform that empowers Cameroonian engineers to work locally while earning internationally, avoiding the need for brain drain or dangerous migration pathways. Given the economic and financial challenges our country faces today, our vision is to ensure these young professionals have the infrastructure and access to the right resources to succeed,” concluded Fabiola BAMEN.

Nurturing sovereign talent for Africa’s digital future

Developing local engineering talent is not only crucial for private sector growth, but it also provides the human capital required to accelerate institutional digital transformation across the continent.

This imperative directly echoes the objectives of E-Gov’A 2026 (E-Gov Africa Summit, Expo & Awards), scheduled to take place from October 14 to 16, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé under the patronage of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. Organized by Digital Business Africa in partnership with Smart Click Africa, the summit will focus on the theme: “Artificial Intelligence and E-Governance: Building Efficient Public Services in a Cashless and Paperless Africa.” By training world-class engineers locally, initiatives like Afro Vision ensure that African institutions have access to the homegrown expertise needed to build secure, efficient, and sovereign e-governance systems.
