It is a great honour, a pleasant duty and a real pleasure for me to speak today once again, on behalf of all the staff of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the entire family of the P&T sector of our country, on the occasion of this solemn moment of presentation of New Year Wishes to the Head of the Ministerial Department in charge of Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies, Mrs Minette LIBOM Li LIKENG.
It is important to recall that this ceremony is more than just a traditional event, it’s also an opportunity for friendly exchanges and in-depth reflection between the various members of the national Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies community The Annual Conference of the Posts and Telecommunications Sector, held as a prelude to the present ceremony, adds to these generous moments of professional conviviality.

Allow me to express my deep and deferential gratitude for your constant support and the opportunity you have given me once again to coordinate this solemn ceremony of presentation of New Year Wishes.
On this happy and memorable occasion, I would like to thank the distinguished array of personalities who took time out of their busy schedules to grace this ceremony with their massive presence. It’s a great pleasure to have you here with us today.

Your Excellency, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications,
For the presentation of new year wishes, it is customary to present a review of the previous year’s activities, before outlining the perspectives for the current one. I will now devote myself to that task, while awaiting the new instructions that will serve as our roadmap throughout 2024.
As you know, 2023 has been a particularly difficult year, marked globally by persistent inflationary pressures, higher fuel prices at the pump, and the continuing Russo-Ukrainian conflict. At the national level, the context was characterised by the implementation of NDS-30, the gradual improvement in the security situation in the North-West and South-West Regions, the implementation of import substitution, the continuation of Cameroon’s digital transformation process and the digitisation of postal services in a secure cyberspace.
Despite these challenges, MINPOSTEL has continued its methodical progress, guided by its roadmap to include the sector’s major projects in the nomenclature of Great Opportunities for the Seven-Year Term of the Head of State, H. E. M. Paul BIYA.
The following activities have been undertaken under Programme 129 relating to Network densification and postal national coverage improvement:
- Operating the national electronic communications aggregation platform and the fitting out of monitoring areas and operation offices at CAMPOST;
- Creating an inter-ministerial committee to set up an e-commerce HUB in Cameroon for the Central African sub-region;
- Installing solar energy equipment in some Post Offices and the ongo
