[DIGITAL Business Africa] – Present at the UK Pavilion during the 10th edition of the International Exhibition for Enterprises, Investments, and Partnerships (PROMOTE 2026) held at the Yaoundé Conference Centre, the Silicon Mountain delegation expressed its deep appreciation for the strategic support received from British diplomacy.
Reflecting on the impact of this participation, Laye Mbunkur, Managing Director at BlueMOON Outsourcing & Consulting Ltd and Head of Delegation for Silicon Mountain, highlighted the journey that led to this milestone and the vast opportunities it opens for Cameroon’s tech ecosystem:
“I think we are so grateful for this opportunity. The High Commissioner came to Buea, sat with us, and thought this was important. For us coming here, we see this as a lifetime opportunity for the community—to be able to showcase what we do, who we are, and to find areas of collaboration with every stakeholder. We hold the firm conviction that there is a tech solution to every challenge.”
Building Concrete Partnerships Towards Douala and E-Gov’A 2026
The presence of the Buea-based tech hub at PROMOTE 2026 has already yielded encouraging preliminary results, paving the way for structured follow-up engagements, including an upcoming session announced in Douala by H.E. Matt Woods, British High Commissioner to Cameroon.
“We are here to exchange with different stakeholders and find common areas of collaboration. This has been a wonderful opportunity. We are so happy with some of the outcomes we have already achieved, and we are looking forward to another meeting in Douala, as the High Commissioner just announced that we shall be having a follow-up session. This will allow us to push further until we build real, solid partnerships from these discussions,” added Laye Mbunkur.
This collaborative momentum aligns seamlessly with the preparations for E-Gov’A 2026 (E-Gov Africa Summit, Expo & Awards), scheduled to take place from October 14 to 16, 2026, at the Yaoundé Conference Centre under the patronage of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. Organised by Digital Business Africa in partnership with the Smart Click Africa association, the summit will focus on the theme: “Artificial Intelligence and E-Governance: Building Efficient Public Services in a Cashless and Paperless Africa.”
The two-decade track record of innovation from the Silicon Mountain in Buea stands out as a vital reservoir of sovereign technologies—ranging from data management and AI to digital workflows—essential for accelerating public administration modernization across the continent.
