It conducts this function through its Radiocommunication Bureau and a specialized membership segment of the organization&#8217;s broad public-private membership, the ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/ITU-R\/conferences\/RRB\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Radio Regulations Board<\/a>\u00a0is an independent ITU-R authority\u00a0comprised of 12 elected members\u00a0in regionally allocated seats spanning the globe.<\/p>\n<p>The part-time body of experts approves the Rules of Procedure for applying the Radio Regulations \u2013 the sole international treaty governing the assignment and use of radio frequencies and the use of satellite orbits.
